The Full-Scale Invasion Anniversary Campaign (the Campaign) is a support network for Ukrainian Student Organizations (USOs) at American colleges and universities that commit to organizing activities for the 2-year Anniversary of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine.
The USOs are organizing activities in their respective communities to commemorate the anniversary of the invasion, showing solidarity despite the distance. As USOs have the greatest impact within their local communities, the Campaign is intended to display the united effort among Ukrainian students.
How to Join the Campaign?
- Ukrainian Student Organizations (USOs) interested in joining or have questions should contact us on Telegram (https://t.me/art3misd) or Email us at sustaboard2022@gmail.com. Do not DM us on Instagram.
- Commit to participate in the Campaign (based on Commitments & Eligibility listed above) and provide at least 1 Email address & 1 Telegram of representative(s). We ask USOs to be responsive at least until March 3.
- [optional] Apply to $50 Microgrant from Campaign Team.
- Plan and organize activities at your communities. Explore Campaign Ideas & Resources [click here] and ask questions or support other peers at Campaign Telegram chat [click here].
- Take photos and videos of your activities and share them with us!
- USOs consent for SUSTA to include their Organization’s name in Campaign materials and other communications with partners.
- USOs consent for SUSTA to use, with credit to USOs, photos and experiences shared with the Campaign team for post-Campaign social media and press materials. SUSTA team will have USOs preview the publication drafts prior to sharing with public.
Microgrant @ USOs
SUSTA offers 3 microgrants worth up to $50. USOs interested in getting the microgrant must be Members of the Campaign (see How to Join section) and:
- Use the microgrant for in-person activity(s) that raises awareness about Ukraine at their local community.
- Briefly explain how the microgrant will benefit them AND commit to present receipts (or other forms of transaction proof) after activities are done.
- We will prioritize USOs that do not get funds from their universities/alumni, and on first-come-first-serve basis. USOs with university funding are still encouraged to apply.
- Contact us on Telegram (https://t.me/art3misd) latest by February 14.
To join the Campaign, USOs simply need to pledge to organize one or more awareness-raising activities about Ukraine during the weeks of February 24. We do not expect detailed plans for activities from USOs. Below are Campaign Commitments & Eligibility:
- USOs solely decide what activities to organize and what messages to share at their communities. The Campaign team has prepared a list of recommended activities with accompanying toolkits and a recommended message.
- SUSTA and other Campaign members do not take credit for work done by USOs. We intend only to uplift individual efforts into a larger picture of collective work of Ukrainian students nationwide.
- USOs do not have to be a university-recognized student body. They can be groups of Ukraine-identifying students and/or supporters of Ukraine.
- USOs need to organize one or more awareness-raising activities about Ukraine during the weeks of February 24, latest by early March. Activities could be as simple as social media awareness publications, opinion articles at university publication, or in-person events.
- USOs commit to stay in contact with Campaign coordinators, and have at least 1 representative join Telegram groupchat with other USOs for exchange of ideas, support, and updates.
- We ask USOs to share images, stories, and impact of their activities part of the Campaign. SUSTA will compile all materials into press releases to Ukrainian-American nonprofits, and share on Instagram and Telegram for Ukrainian students, with potential coverage in American press.
